IF YOU FORGET YOUR CARD:  
You may borrow materials for a $1 fee. One ID is required, preferably a driver’s license or photo identification. YOU MAY BORROW ONLY ON YOUR OWN CARD.

RENEWALS:
Renewals may be made over the telephone (422-1492) or online for borrowers in good standing so long as the material is eligible (see above), not overdue, on hold or an interlibrary loan. Telephone renewal is available Monday-Saturday from opening until 1/2 hour before closing. Online renewals are available 24/7 through our website www.whiteplainslibrary.org.

VACATION LOANS:
White Plains residents (ONLY) may request an 8 week vacation loan on books, EXCEPT  New Books, travel, & Job Information Center.

BORROWING LIMIT:
There is a limit of 25 items per card. Limit of 10 per card for each of the following: DVDs, videos, CDs, CD-ROMs, Playaways, magazines and digital items. Limit of one item for Bag-A-Tales. There is a limit of 3 items for all new borrowers.

LOST CARD:
Please report lost cards immediately. Library privileges may be suspended until financial obligations are met by the borrower, or if library materials are overdue. There is a $5 replacement fee for adult library cards and a $2 replacement fee for juvenile library cards.

INTERLIBRARY LOANS:
Books and AV materials may be borrowed for you from other libraries. A service fee of 75¢ is charged when an interlibrary loan is requested. You are responsible for payment whether the item is picked up or not. Occasionally other fees from the lending library may also apply. Ask at the Adult Reference Desk for more information.

HOLDS:
You may place holds on any circulating item in our catalog, regardless of whether the item is in the Library or checked out to another borrower. You may reserve in person, by phone at 422-1480 or online at www.whiteplainslibrary.org. You will be notified by mail or by e-mail when your hold becomes available. A service fee of 75¢ is charged when a hold is requested. You are responsible for payment whether the item is picked up or not; however, if you cancel your request before the item is available for you, you will not be charged.

BOOK DROPS:
Outside return chutes next to the main entrance are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, a drive-up return box is open during library hours. Any materials may be returned in these depositories. Please put items in one at a time, so the chutes do not get clogged!
