M & M Productions Acting Company Presents
"Feathers Sometimes Soar on the Breath of God" by Ward James
Riley
This delightful play about the poet Emily Dickinson focuses on her
relationship with editor and man of letters Thomas Wentworth Higginson
whose help she sought in getting her work published. Following years
of correspondence, the two fi nally met in August of 1870, with no
record of what took place. This “Magic of Live Theater” production
dramatizes their imaginary meeting with artful and intriguing results.
Directed by Melinda O’Brien, starring Daphne Platt as Dickinson,
Sean Keohane as Higginson, and Carol Eagen as Emily’s sister Lavinia.
