The Alice Collection

The Alice collection, an adult research collection at the White Plains Public Library, houses a special non-circulating collection of which we are very proud. It brings together the best in children's books, criticism on children's literature, resources for storytelling, biographical information on children's authors and illustrators, and works of historical value in the field of children's literature. Included in the collection are many out-of-print books, anthologies and first editions, as well as Carnegie Medal, Kate Greenaway, Newbery, and Caldecott award-winners. Although the collection is now in a storage area, and must be used on the premises, we are pleased to share these works with visitors interested in beautiful and historically significant children's books. Please call ahead to inquire about usage and availability of this very special collection.
