Teachers
Are looking for that perfect book or a great website? Let us help.
We can post your assignments and booklists, and hold books for assignments. Use the Online Request form to let us know about your assignments. Or use Snail Mail. Or come in to see us. Or call us. We will help find books on topics for units of study. Let us know what your summer reading plan is. We can post your reading lists and check whether we own the books. There are always suggested reading lists for each grade in the Children's Library and on this site. Encourage your students to participate in the Library's summer reading program.
For Preschool, PreK and Early Elementary teachers, consider our Bag-A-Tales. You can check our holdings online.
Bring your class for a tour or a demo of our online resources, and register all your students for library cards. (link to Groups) Tell your students about our Online Homework Help and our Teacher-In-The-Library program.
Each spring, the White Plains Public Schools and the White Plains Public Library cooperate on the Reader's Fair. The Children's Services staff can speak at faculty meetings and parent meetings. We love to come to book fairs and other events with our Library banner and informational give-aways.
