"SIMPLE GIFTS" CONCERT AND RECEPTION AT WHITE PLAINS PUBLIC LIBRARY

Three talented musicians plus twelve instruments equals one exciting musical experience when Simple Gifts performs at The White Plains Public Library on Sunday, October 28th at 2:30pm. The program features a variety of ethnic folk music, everything from Irish jigs and American reels to Klezmer and Gypsy melodies. The public is invited to a "Meet The Artists" reception following the program.

Laura Littleton, Rachel Hall and Karen Hirshon have performed together as Simple Gifts since 1995. They have appeared throughout the mid-Atlantic area, including appearances at the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Longwood Gardens, Hershey Theater,

Greater Washington Folklore Society, Ontario Center for Performing Arts, Bethlehem Musikfest, the Central Pennsylvania Fewtival of the Arts and countless leading music venues throughout the region.

They play an impressive variety of instruments, inclduing violin, concertina, mandolin, hammered dulcimer, guitar and piano as well as more unusual instruments like the bowed psaltery, banjolin and doumbek.
