JAZZ AFTERNOON WITH THE GLENDA DAVENPORT QUINTET MARKS WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH AT THE WHITE PLAINS PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Glenda Davenport Quintet will present a Jazz Afternoon marking Women’s History Month with a program of songs made famous by women jazz immortals at The White Plains Public Library on Sunday, March 3rd at 2:30pm. The group features Glenda Davenport on vocals with Carmen Leggio on tenor saxophone, David Jones on drums, David Oliver on piano and Joe Solomon on bass.

Glenda Davenport performs regularly at leading jazz venues throughout the tri-state area. She has appeared at New York’s Village Gate, Birdland and Central Park Boathouse, at the College of New Rochelle, Arrowwood and the Conservatory of Music in Westchester and at The Silvermine Tavern, Hot Tomato’s and the Long Ridge Tavern in Connecticut, among others.

She was the winner of the world famous Apollo Theater’s Amateur Night, appeared as the opening act for Bill Cosby at the Purchase College Performing Arts Center and was featured at the Saratoga Jazz Festival as vocalist with the Carmen Leggio Quartet. She is the Executive Producer of her debut CD album, Sophisticated Lady.
