eBooks Available Through the White Plains Public Library

If you have a PDA or PC and are a registered Library user, you can borrow an electronic book from our new collection of eBooks.  Go to our website at www.whiteplainslibrary.org and click on “Borrow an eBook.”  Enter your library card number, and you’ll be taken to the White Plains eBook Library.  There you’ll find popular books geared for leisure reading and travel, perfect for your next trip.  Instructions are on the site to get you started and explain how this free service works.  You can borrow books, suggest titles for the collection and give us feedback.

Why have an eBook Library?   From all accounts, eBooks haven’t caught on as some had predicted.  While this may be true, the medium is likely to take hold eventually in some fashion.  We want to give you, our patrons, a chance to try it out and tell us what you think.  And the Library wants to learn something about loaning books electronically.

Our eBook Library is an experiment and may not be the last word in book titles, reading technology or electronic borrowing.  We think it’s a good starting place and a great opportunity to learn by doing.  We thank our White Plains Library Foundation for the funding to make this experiment possible!
