White Plains Public Library Presents "Keeping Current," Discussion Series in Response to Issues Arising From 9/11 and its Aftermath.

In response to the events of 9/11 and their aftermath, the White Plains Public Library will present "Keeping Current," a series of programs featuring expert speakers, designed to offer the public the opportunity to explore some of the issues facing America today. The four-part series will take place in the 2nd Floor Auditorium of the Library on Tuesday evenings in January at 7:30pm.

On January 8th, the topic will be Coping in an Insecure World After Terrorism with Ann S. Kliman, Director of the Situational Crisis Service at The Center for Preventive Psychiatry. On January 15th the program will be, Understanding Islam: with Feisal Abdul Rauf, a teacher of Islam at the New York Seminary and at the Center for Religious Inquiry of St. Bartholomew’s Church, NYC.

On January 22nd, the topic will be Understanding Afghanistan, with Masuda Sultan, president of the Scarsdale-based Young Afghan-World Alliance. The final program on January 29th will explore Understanding American Foreign Policy in the Middle East, with Jeffrey Lefebvre, Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Connecticut
