Alan Sklar is a well-known voice actor, whose credits include radio and television commercials, corporate video narrations, and narrations for audio books and documentaries. He recently completed an audio book assignment for Chivers, narrating the unabridged version of the best seller Black Hawk Down by Mark Bowden. Sklar has also appeared in soap operas and off-Broadway, and for three years was promo announcer for WPIX-TV in New York City.
Saki was born Hector Hugh Munro in Burma in 1870 of Scottish parents. He returned to grow up in England where he was educated and became a popular London journalist. He wrote two novels and over 100 short stories, many satirizing British society of the early 1900s. He took the pseudonym "Saki," the cupbearer in the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, who brought pleasure to everyone he served. Munro/Saki was killed in action in France in 1916 during World War I.
