NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR LEE CHILD FEATURED AT WHITE PLAINS PUBLIC LIBRARY
Lee Child, award-winning mystery thriller author, will speak and sign books
at the finale of the Library's fall mystery book discussion series, on
Wednesday, December 3rd at 2:00 and 7:00 pm.
According to Child's publisher, Delacorte Press, one of his seven novels featuring ex-military cop Jack Reacher sells every 15 seconds world-wide. His work is translated into almost 30 languages and published in over 40 countries. Child's most recent novel, Persuader, published in May 2003, received a starred review in Publisher's Weekly. "Child is a master of storytelling skills, not least the plot twist, and the opening chapter of this novel spins a doozy…..Any thriller fan who has yet to read Lee Child should start now." His first novel, Killing Floor, won the Anthony Award and the Barry Award for Best First Novel.
An Englishman by birth, Child worked for almost 20 years at writing and directing for Granada Television in Manchester, England. A world-famous production company, Granada was known for shows like "Brideshead Revisited" and "Jewel in the Crown." In 1995, as a result of downsizing, Child lost his job and began writing novels. In 1998 he and his wife Jane moved from the U.K. to Pound Ridge, NY.
