COMING TO WHITE PLAINS THIS MARCH: A PORTAL TO OUTER SPACE!

White Plains Public Library Hosts National NASA @ Your Library Exhibit
March 9 - April 15, 2005

We all know that the U.S. space program is cool rockets and photos of Mars, but it is so much more. For six weeks this spring at the White Plains Public Library, you can discover how NASA both explores the universe and brings a world of science into our daily lives.

NASA @your library - a national traveling exhibit organized by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the American Library Association (ALA), and the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of ALA, -- opens on the first floor of the White Plains Public Library on March 9, 2005. Major funding for NASA @your library provided by NASA and Apple.

The exhibit brings the exciting world of science and its everyday uses to children ages 5-12 and their parents/caregivers. NASA @your library features a light tower, audio dome and four different weekly programs - including how the space program contributes to health care and agriculture - playing continuously on plasma screens provided by Apple. Additional information about the exhibit can be found at www.ala.org/nasa.

In conjunction with the exhibit, the Library is offering free programs for the public. Visit the Library's web site at whiteplainslibrary.org or call 422-1476 for details.
